Long Island is an uninhabited island lying in the southern part of Willapa Bay in Pacific County, Washington, USA. It is the site of the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, part of the United States National Wildlife Refuge System. The island has a land area of 21.666 km² (8.3654 sq mi).

Langstone Harbour is an English inlet of the English Channel, sandwiched between Portsea Island to the south and west, Hayling Island to the south and east, and Langstone to the north. Geographically it is a ria.

Together with Chichester Harbour, which is at the other (eastern) side of Hayling Island it is designated as a Special Protection Area for wildlife. West of Portsmouth is Portsmouth Harbor and the three linked harbors are important recreational and conservation areas as well as supporting commercial fishing and shipping. It is administered by the Langstone Harbour Board.

It contains Baker's Island, North Binness Island, South Binness Island and Long Island. These are subject to erosion and during the 1990s a seven-year archaeology project took place before their history was lost to the seas.

The Outer Hebrides, (officially known for local government purposes by the Gaelic name, Na h-Eileanan Siar) comprise an island chain off the west coast of Scotland. The local government area is one of the 32 unitary council areas of Scotland.

The islands form part of the Hebrides, separated from the Scottish mainland and from the Inner Hebrides by the stormy waters of the Minch, the Little Minch and the Sea of the Hebrides. Formerly the dominant language of the Islands, Scottish Gaelic remains widely spoken even though it has now been largely supplanted by English in some parts.

The name for the UK Parliament constituency covering this area is Na h-Eileanan an Iar, whilst the Scottish Parliament constituency for the area continues to be officially known as Western Isles although it is almost always written as Western Isles (Eilean Siar). The islands were known as Suðreyjar ("Southern Islands"; cf. Suðrland) under Norwegian rule for about 200 years until sovereignty was transferred to Scotland in the Treaty of Perth in 1266, which followed the Battle of Largs three years earlier. Colloquially, they are sometimes referred to collectively as An t-Eilean Fada or "The Long Island"; Na h-Eileanan a-Muigh (the Outer Isles) is also heard occasionally in Scottish Gaelic.

Inchfad (Scottish Gaelic: Innis Fada, meaning "long island") is an island in the south east of Loch Lomond in Scotland.

Inchfad is about a mile long and forty hectares in size. It forms part of the parish of Buchanan in west central Scotland. Formerly in Stirlingshire it now falls under Stirling Council.

It is partially wooded and has two residents. There are two houses on Inchfad, a modernized bungalow which served as the original farmhouse and a wooden house used as a holiday home.

Long Island, New Zealand, an

Long Island is located in
the Marlborough Sounds of New Zealand. It is just over 1.41 square kilometers in
area with a length of 4 km (the long axis being aligned North-east/South-west)
and a maximum width of 1 km - hence the name "Long Island". The island was
reserved for public utility on the 26th of March 1926 and soon after became a
farm which ran between 300 and 400 sheep until January 14th 1926 when the island
became a scenic reserve. With the removal of stock in the 1930s the island has
been left to regenerate back into native bush. In April 1993 the Long Island-Kokomohua
Marine reserve was created around Long island and the tiny Kokomohua islands off
its northern tip - it extends 460 meters offshore from the high water mark
around the islands and was the first Marine reserve to be created in the South
Island. The island itself is also an important wildlife refuge and a number of
species of threatened endemic birds which have been reintroduced to it including
Little Spotted Kiwi (late 1980s), Yellow Crowned Kakariki (2001) and South
Island Saddleback (2005) - all these reintroductions have been successful with
healthy breeding populations of each species now present on the Island.

Long Island is a volcanic
island north of Papua New Guinea. It is separated from the island of New Guinea
by Vitiaz Strait. Two stratovolcanoes are located on the island: Mount Reaumur
and Cerisy Peak. The summit of the volcanic complex collapsed during at least
three major explosive eruptions, about 16,000, 4000, and 300 years ago. These
produced a large caldera 10 x 12.5 km in size, now filled with a crater lake,
Lake Wisdom. The most recent eruption occurred in 1993.
